Two-weekend class aimed at students, professionals

The University of Delaware’s Division of Professional and Continuing Studies (UD PCS) is offering its annual four-day Speed Reading and Study Strategies course for undergraduate and graduate students, high school seniors, and all other adults and professionals interested in improving their reading speed and skill.

Presented over two consecutive weekends, Sept. 21-22 and Sept. 28-29, on UD’s Newark campus, participants can choose the morning, 9 a.m.-noon, or afternoon session, 1-4 p.m.

Conducted in partnership with the Institute of Reading Development (IRD), the class is designed to improve students’ reading speed and comprehension, whether for personal enjoyment or for academic or professional reading. The program helps students read textbooks, as well as novels, journal articles and other nonfiction works, faster. Improved comprehension strategies enable participants to understand and retain information better, even while reading at higher speeds.

Registration includes free lifetime repeat privileges at UD or any other location offering this class through the Institute of Reading Development.
