Professional and Continuing Studies to host education open house for UD employees Nov. 13
University of Delaware employees are invited to an open house to learn more about education and training opportunities at UD and speak with UD staff who will be on hand to answer questions about available resources and benefits.
The open house will take place Wednesday, Nov. 13 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Trabant University Center. Light lunch refreshments will be available, and attendees will be eligible for prize raffles. RSVPs are requested.
Many UD employees may want to learn more about how to use their education benefits like fee waiver and tuition remission to enroll in UD credit classes or professional development programs, or earn a UD graduate or undergraduate degree.
UD’s Christine Murray is currently completing a UD degree while working full time as an administrative assistant in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. “Finishing my bachelor’s degree has always been on my mind, and I began to take it more seriously once I started working full-time at UD,” said Murray, “I took advantage of the course fee waiver benefit and jumped right into college life.”
“The advising from UD’s ACCESS Center was extremely helpful,” said Murray. “I found the prospect of going back to college daunting at first, but after diving in and meeting with ACCESS advisors, I was able to mentally break down my goal into small steps, which have been adding up quickly.”
Attendees to the Nov. 13 open house will be able to consult with staff from these UD departments:
- Human Resources
- Graduate Admissions
- ACCESS Center
- Professional and Continuing Studies
- Disability Support Services
- Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI)
- UD Library, Museums and Press
