Clinical Trials Management course starts Sept. 3
UD’s Clinical Trials Management Certificate online program, offered through the Division of Professional and Continuing Studies, starts Sept. 3.

Online course focuses on high-impact field of clinical and pharmaceutical research

The University of Delaware’s long-running Clinical Trials Management Certificate program, now in its 16th year, is open for fall registration. The next 14-week online course starts Sept. 3.

Offered through UD’s Division of Professional and Continuing Studies (UD PCS), the self-paced curriculum includes broad coverage of U.S. and worldwide clinical trial processes and regulations, data management, legal and ethical considerations, and marketing principles.

“UD’s program is ideal for professionals who are considering a pivot into the clinical research field,” said program instructor Erika Jerome, an experienced, ACRP-certified (Association of Clinical Research Professionals) manager of the Investigator-Sponsored Research Unit (ISRU) at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia.

“Clinical research is such a multifaceted and interesting field where you can really feel the impact of your work, and potentially have a hand in creating novel therapies and working toward curative solutions for disease,” added Jerome.

Many professionals with a strong science- or healthcare-related background, such as nurses, pharmacists, medical technologists and physicians, are well positioned to join the clinical research field, as are associated professionals from fields like marketing, project management and data analysis.

Career opportunities in the clinical research field are varied, including settings in pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, medical device manufacturers, contract research organizations (CROs), clinical facilities and academic institutions.

UD students, UD alumni, military veterans and personnel, and others are eligible for a discount when enrolling in this program. A payment plan and scholarship opportunities are available.
