Long-running UD program provides flexible nursing refresher opportunity
Registration for the University of Delaware’s RN Refresher Online Program is open for the fall course, which starts Aug. 28.
The long-running program is offered through UD’s Division of Professional and Continuing Studies (UD PCS) and has served over 1,500 registered nurses seeking to update their nursing knowledge in order to reinstate, reactivate or renew their RN licenses, and to reenter or continue active nursing practice.
Last year, the program saw registrations from 18 U.S. states and from as far away as Alaska.
UD’s RN Refresher program is comprised of a 15-week online course, followed by an optional hospital-based clinical rotation. Along with detailed medical/surgical, pharmacology and specialty updates, topics include nursing trends of the 21st century, cultural competence, legal and end-of-life considerations, and more.
The online format features videos, case studies and interactive virtual activities, and the regularly updated course content reflects the pace of change in the healthcare environment.
Registration discounts are applicable for UD alumni, students and employees, as well as military veterans and service members.
